The Film Federation of India (FFI) has selected Dear Comrade as India’s official entry into the Oscar. Apart from this film, 28 films from other languages have been picked by the FFI for Oscar Entry.
FFI will do the screening process and select one film that will go for the Oscar Award’s race in the Foreign Language category.
‘Dear Comrade’ is the only Telugu film to get a place in Oscar’s entry list. The screening process is already underway in Kolkata and final results will be announced on September 21st.
Noted filmmaker Aparna Sen is the jury of this selection process. ‘Dear Comrade’ was written and directed by Bharat Kamma. Hero Vijay Deverakonda played the role of student leader and the film was produced by Mythri Movie Makers.
