Sivakarthikeyan and 'Abhimanyudu' director PS Mithran's Superhero movie, 'Shakti', is getting ready for a release in Telugu. Kalyani Priyadarshan of 'Hello' fame is the female lead in this movie. Bollywood actor Abhay Deol plays the antagonist and 'Action King' Arjun will be seen in a key role.
Produced by Kotapadi J Rajesh, 'Shakti' is the Telugu dubbed version of Tamil movie, 'Hero'.
Speaking about the film, PS Mithran said, "A boy, who watches 'Shaktiman' serial, tries to become a Superhero and performs some real life stunts. How he takes on the flaws in the contemporary education system and settles down in life upon the suggestion of his father is what the film is all about. The film was received very well in Tamil and we are expecting a similar response from Telugu audiences as it is a universal subject. The film deals with some hard truths and we hope it engages the audiences and makes them think at the same time".
Producer Kotapadi J Rajesh said, "Sivakarthikeyan's success as a hero owes to the fact that he signs a film only if it has a strong subject. 'Hero' is a universal subject and so we are confident of the Telugu version 'Shakti's success. Yuvan Shankar Raja, editor Ruben and cinematographer George C Williams, who worked for PS Mithran's successful movie, 'Abhimanyudu', have also worked for this movie. Abhay Deol has made his debut in South with this movie. Parents will definitely change the way they behave with their children if they watch this movie. It emphasizes the fact that anyone can achieve great heights, if they are given the freedom to think creatively. Arjun's character will be a surprise. The film is done with the post production work and we are planning to release the movie soon. Meanwhile, the audio will be released this month".
