The words 'Saakini' and 'Daakini' are often heard in pop culture in comedic contexts. Several films use the words to describe daredevil women. No wonder that the makers of Regina Cassandra's and Nivetha Thomas' next film have picked the words as the title for the Telugu remake of the Korean thriller 'Midnight Runners'.
Suresh Productions, Guru Films, and Kross Pictures Film have collaborated for this Sudheer Varma directorial. Drawing from the source material, Akshay Poolla has penned the screenplay, besides taking care of dialogues.
Director Sudheer Varma of 'Swamy Ra Ra' fame is kicked about the title. "Oh Wait!! We didn’t know our Title is being launched today! Anyways now that the cat’s out of the box! (sic)," he tweeted today. His two female leads, too, are elated.
With music by Mikey McCleary, 'SD' has cinematography by Richard Prasad. Viplav Nyshadam and Gandhi Nadikudikar have helmed the editing and cinematography departments.
