Senior journalist Bhageeratha has been selected for the Akkineni Lifetime Achievement Award for this year by the Sruthilaya Arts Academy. The award was instituted years ago in memory of Padma Bhushan Akkineni Nageswara Rao. Dr. Md. Rafi of the Academy today stated that Journalist Bhageeratha has been selected in view of his services to journalism.
For the past two decades, every year, the Academy has been holding cultural events at Ravindra Bharathi in Hyderabad. On September 20, marking ANR's Jayanthi, the award will be conferred on the journalist.
Bhageeratha has received a number of awards over the years.
