It's known that Dr. Mohan Babu and Lakshmi Manchu are doing a film titled 'Agni Nakshatram'. With the story written by Diamond Ratnababu, the drama is directed by Prateek Prajosh.
The film is coming close on the heels of 'Son Of India' getting panned like anything. Mohan Babu's character in that movie was heavy. And the senior actor is once again playing a heavy role in 'Agni Nakshatram'. He will be seen as a "dynamic and effervescent Professor" named Viswamitra in the movie. And, as per Lakshmi Manchu, Viswamitra can "move mountains with his profound thinking and ideologies."
The description sounds bombastic, to say the least. The audience definitely like to watch profound characters, but protagonists who have strong thought streams in our movies tend to get preachy. And preachy characters are not in favour today. One hopes 'Agni Nakshtram' is not a preachy film.
Also starring Viswant and Chitra Shukla in the lead, the film has Samuthirakani in a key role. Mollywood actor Siddique is part of the cast.
