Dil Raju on Tuesday said that he had not tried to suppress 'Karthikeya 2' by conspiring to put off its release. In recent weeks, a view has taken roots that Dil Raju wanted 'Thank You', 'Bimbisara' and 'Macherla Niyojakavargam' to benefit at the expense of 'Karthikeya 2'.
Raju today seemed hurt and angry during his speech at Karthikeya 2's success event. He gave a chronological account of what transpired between him and Nikhil since July.
Raju said that his home banner's 'Thank You' couldn't be released on July 8. It was postponed to July 22, following which he requested Karthikeya 2's producers to cooperate and call off their film's release. They promptly agreed.
Raju later advised the team of 'Karthikeya 2' not to pick Aug 5 in view of the release of 'Bimbisara' and 'Sita Ramam', both of which were riding high expectations. Voluntarily, the producers of 'Karthikeya 2' chose Aug 12. In view of avoiding a direct clash with Nithiin's film, its release was put off further by just one day.
Raju asked the media to first know all versions of a story before resorting to mud-slinging for the sake of views. He hinted that clickbait articles have been written to defame him.
Dil Raju suggested that producers Abhishek Agarwal and Vivek Kuchibotla wouldn't have invited him to the success meet but for the healthy relations that exist in Tollywood.
