Last year, months after Shankar's movie with Ram Charan and Kiara Advani was announced, it was reported that Tamil director Karthik Subbaraj is its story-writer. The same has been confirmed by the director, who is known for 'Petta' and who awaits the release of 'Mahaan' this week.
Speaking to a Tamil media house, the 'Jagame Thandhiram' director said that the film is a political story. This has been known for many months, given that Ram Charan is playing an IAS officer. When Subbaraj pitched the idea to the '2.0' director, he liked it. "I am very happy that someone who made a film like 'Mudhalvan' (Arjun's 'Oke Okkadu' in Telugu) is handling the story," Subbaraj said.
Jayaram, Sunil, Anjali and Naveen Chandra have got important roles in this film. Produced by Dil Raju, its music is by Thaman. The producer recently said that the untitled pan-India film will head to theatres for Sankranthi next year.
