Veteran composer Bappi Lahiri is no more. The news of his demise has saddened the film fraternity and music lovers, who are yet to overcome the grief of the passing away of Lata Mangeshkar recently.
Megastar Chiranjeevi, who greatly owes the stupendous success of 'Gang Leader' to Bappi's music, called him a legend. He thanked Bappi for ensuring that his movies become popular also because of the songs. Mohan Babu tweeted that Bappi's music helped three of his movies.
Bollywood writer-director-producer Karan Johar wrote that Bappi had set a gold standard in music. "The Disco King forever. He will be truly missed," Johar wrote.
Besides the film fraternity, Bappi's demise has been condoled by the political class as well. In his tweet, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote, "Shri Bappi Lahiri Ji’s music was all-encompassing, beautifully expressing diverse emotions. People across generations could relate to his works. His lively nature will be missed by everyone. Saddened by his demise. Condolences to his family and admirers. Om Shanti."
