On Wednesday, the teaser of 'Thank You' generated comparisons more than praises from the audience. As soon as the teaser was out, social media was abuzz with references to other movies in the context of the Naga Chaitanya-starrer.
Here is the list of films with which the plot of 'Thank You' has been compared:
'Maharshi': Like Mahesh Babu in 'Maharshi', Chay in this film is a businessman. Like the hero in that movie, Chay goes on a path of self-discovery after realizing the futility of chasing success. But the similarity stops here.
'Yevade Subrahmanyam': In the Nag Ashwin directorial, Nani's character undergoes an inner transformation when he travels to Doodh Kashi influenced by Vijay Deverakonda's character. Doodh Kashi in that film is replaced with, probably, Russia in 'Thank You'.
'Premam': 'Premam' narrated the male protagonist's three phases in life. The same goes with 'Thank You'. Three phases see three different lovers: played by Avika Gor, Malavika Nair, and Raashi Khanna. We see Chay in different get-ups for the same reason.
'World Famous Lover': Netizens are talking about this film probably because of the three love stories angle. But the comparisons are superficial.
One hopes director Vikram K Kumar has given a unique touch to the story and there is a surprise element in the movie. 'Thank You' hits the cinemas on July 8.
