Akkineni Nagarjuna is presenting the Telugu 'Sardar', which heads to theatres on October 21. Speaking at the film's pre-release event, Nag recalled his association with actor Karthi since 'Oopiri'.
"I have maintained equations with Karthi since that movie. I am proud to be presenting 'Sadar' on my banner. Karthi has managed to come out of the shadow of Suriya, much like Pawan Kalyan and Puneeth Rajkumar have come out of the shadow of their respective brothers. Karthi has always been versatile. Coming to director PS Mithran, his 'Abhimanyudu' was awesome. I strongly believe 'Sardar' is going to be great," Nag said.
Karthi said, "I am very happy that Nagarjuna 'annayya' is here today. I am thrilled ahead of the release of 'Sardar'. I have played a dual role - of a father and son - in the movie. This is the first time I have done so. Sardar is a great hero who is an unconditional patriot. Director Mithran exposed the dangers of digital and smart technologies in 'Abhimanyudu'. In 'Sardar', there is a surprising element that we have hidden thus far."
Laila is making a comeback with the film. "It was for Diwali that my film 'Shiva Putrudu' was released. 'Sardar', too, is releasing for Diwali. It's also my birthday. Karthi is fantastic in 'Sardar'."
Rajisha Vijayan said, "I have been a fan of Nagarjuna garu ever since I watched 'Gitanjali'. In 'Sardar', I have played a character named Indira. You are going to find love, comedy and action aplenty in the film."
