Sree Leela is not the first female star heroine to play a series of brainless roles. Even the likes of Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Nayanthara have played remarkably absurd roles in the past.
But Sree Leela is the first superstar actress in recent years to get to play extremely unintelligent and desperately dumb characters, one after another. In 'Skanda', she was seen as the daughter of a Chief Minister. Despite her power, privilege and status, she engages in juvenile talk with a misbehaving stranger (Ram Pothineni). Boyapati Sreenu has since been outdone by two other directors.
In 'Aadikesava', debutant filmmaker Srikanth Reddy cast Sree Leela in the role of an entrepreneur who behaves as though she has never come across a decent man all her life. The moment she bumps into the hero (Vaisshnav Tej), she is disarmed by his generosity and gentlemanly demeanour. This despite she being a serial charity-giver herself in the film.
In the latest release, 'Extra - Ordinary Man', Sree Leela is Likitha, a billionaire who doesn't know the basics of business operations. She has to be saved by our hero (Nithiin), whom she befriends because she had watched him as an extra in a movie!
In comparison, Sree Leela played a Newton-esque role in 'Bhagavanth Kesari'.
