Tollywood star heroes condole Jamuna's demise

Legendary actress Jamuna passed away in Hyderabad on Friday. She was 86. Known for iconic movies like 'Sri Krishna Thulabharam' and 'Missamma', Jamuna acted in more than 200 movies across Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi.

Several Tollywood star heroes paid rich tributes to Jamuna by taking to social media. Nandamuri Balakrishna briefly mentioned the versatile roles that Jamuna essayed in many films. The 'Veera Simha Reddy' star wrote that Jamuna started out quite young (at the age of 15). He added, quoting his late father NTR, that actors have no death.

Megastar Chiranjeevi said that Jamuna was a Kannadiga but she went on to excel in other languages, especially Telugu. "Her equations with Mahanati Savitri were great. My deepest condolences to Jamuna garu's family," the 'Waltair Veerayya' actor tweeted. It was Savitri who encouraged Jamuna to take up feature films.

Pawan Kalyan wrote about Jamuna's versatility. He also said that she was a Lok Sabha member. Power Star hinted that Jamuna was known both for playful roles and gracious roles in mythological movies.

Mahesh Babu tweeted that he is saddened to hear about the demise of Jamuna. He added, "Will fondly remember her for all her iconic roles and her immense contribution to the industry. My condolences to her family and loved ones," the actor added.

Jr NTR said that Jamuna was a queen for 30 years in the Telugu film industry. He cited two film titles of hers: 'Gundamma Katha' and 'Missamma'.

Nithiin tweeted, "Shocked to hear about the demise of legendary actress Jamuna Garu. May her soul rest in peace. Sending my deepest condolences to her near and dear."

Several other Tollywood celebs have fondly praised Jamuna.
