The upcoming sci-fi 'Kalki 2989 AD' stars Prabhas in the lead. The buzz is that the film will hit the cinemas in May 2024. Is the big-ticket film going to have a sequel as has been rumoured?
In an interview with Collider, Nag Ashwin said that he definitely started wanting to create a new world. The 'Mahanati' director suggested that, more than sequels, he could hold on to just the characters in the film, the locations, or the vehicles that have been created.
"We could make an animated short of that. We could have cars or trucks from our designs, we could have figures. And I thought that kind of world, this movie allows. So yeah. But spin-offs and all that just don't need this movie right now that I am thinking about (sic)," he said.
It appears that 'Kalki' won't have a sequel in the sense a 'Baahubali' and a 'Salaar' have got.
