'Matka' is the title of Varun Tej's 14th movie, to be released in 2024 in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. Directed by Karuna Kumar of 'Palasa 1978' fame, the film was launched today by producers Mohan Cherukuri (CVM) and Dr Vijender Reddy Teegala of Vyra Entertainments.
Touted to be the most expensive film in the career of the 'F2' actor, the film's story unfolds over a period of 24 years from 1958 to 1982. In tune with the demands of the character, the 'Ghani' actor will sport four different get-ups. A mega-scale set recreating the Vizag of the 1960s has already been under construction.
In today's announcement poster, we see a vintage car. Probably, Varun Tej will be seen in a rags-to-riches story. Once he strikes gold, he turns flamboyant and hedonistic.
As has already been reported, Norah Fatehi and Meenakshi Chowdary will play prominent roles in this big-ticket movie. Naveen Chandra, Kannada Kishore, Ajay Ghosh, Mime Gopi, and others have also been roped in. For Naveen Chandra, this is one of the biggest films currently besides Ram Charan's 'Game Changer'.
GV Prakash Kumar (music), Priyaseth (cinematography), Karthika Srinivas R (editing), Ashish Teja (production design), and others are working on 'Matka'.
