At a time when OTT platforms have become indispensable, acclaimed filmmaker Gautham Menon today hinted that some talking heads at the streaming platforms know nothing. Yet, they are given the most consequential responsibilities.
In an interview with senior film critic Baradwaj Rangan, the director said that those who know nothing about a film get to decide on OTT rights and all. “There are people sitting at OTT platforms who can’t even pronounce the name of the movie properly. They decide what kind of movies should come into the platforms for their audience," the 'Ye Maya Chesave' director has been quoted as saying.
The director wouldn't have made the comments had there been no element of truth in it.
Menon awaits the release of Vikram-starrer 'Dhruva Natchathiram' on November 24. The spy thriller will be released simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil.
