'Ramanna Youth', the village-based political comedy starring Abhai Naveen as an underdog, is going to hit the cinemas on September 15. Its trailer is out.
The trailer, at more than 150 seconds, reveals the gist of the story and the nature of entertainment we can expect. The male lead is a nobody who is fascinated by the idea of becoming famous. He takes to politics after his life takes unexpected emotional turns. His love affair with the daughter of an influential man in the village turns bumpy.
Vishnu Oi of 'Taxiwala' fame plays the male lead's friend-turned-foe. Srikanth Iyangar is seen as a political heavyweight.
Anil Gill, Tagubothu Ramesh, Yadamma Raju and others converse with one another in a slice-of-life manner. If the arc of the male lead's rise is convincing, this small film might well spring a surprise.
With music by Kamran and sound design by Nagarjuna Thallapalli, the film has cinematography handled by Fahad Abdul Majeed and editing by Rupak Ronaldson.
