The 2014 horror-comedy movie 'Geethanjali' starred Anjali in the lead. Its sequel, titled 'Geethanjali Malli Vachindhi', is slated to hit the cinemas on April 11. Directed by Siva Thurlapati and presented by Kona Venkat on Kona Film Corporation, the horror comedy's trailer was released today at an event in Hyderabad.
Speaking at the trailer launch event, Editor Chhota K Prasad predicted that Anjali will be receiving a flood of offers after this movie. "The film has been made in Kona garu's style. Director Siva has directed the movie brilliantly. It will give a new experience to all," he added.
Music director Praveen Lakkaraju said that the movie is doubly entertaining and has twice the horror quotient than the first part. "I have been working on the background score for many days. We are confident that everyone will like this movie. We did a special song for Anjali's 50th movie," he added.
Director Siva said that the film goes beyond what has been shown in the trailer. "We have reached here with everyone's support. This is Anjali's 50th movie and it is going to be very special to her," he added.
Shakalaka Shankar said, "Praveen Lakkaraju has provided good music and background score. It has been ten years since the release of 'Geetanjali' took place. We have really worked hard on the film. Everyone should make this movie a big success this April 11."
Satyam Rajesh said that the movie will be as much fun to watch as it will be scary. Srinivas Reddy said, "My character is Kona garu's in this movie. My name is Chenakkayala Seenu, who is a hard worker. I congratulate Anjali for completing 50 films."
Presenter Kona Venkat said, “A Telugu actress doing 50 films is a great thing. It was Srinivas Reddy who brought the idea of 'Geethanjali' to me. The success of that film brought our team together. I have worked as a writer for 55 films. Writers Bhanu and Nandu took this movie to the next level. They worked 'Samajavaragamana' and 'Ooru Peru Bhairavakona'. Even though I gave the story, they took it many steps forward. Praveen Lakkaraju is known as Junior Thaman."
BVS Ravi said that he had watched the movie and that it came out really well. "Anjali will rise to great heights in the industry. The music and background score provided by Praveen Lakkaraju are next level. The movie will be a grand success," he added.
Producer DVV Danayya said that the trailer was amazing. "I want this film to be a bigger hit than its predecessor. I want Kona Venkat to get a good name with this movie," he added.
Anjali said that the trailer was a cracker. "The movie is a hundred times better than the trailer. I wanted my 50th film to be very special. That wish stands fulfilled. The entire team made this movie by pouring in their hearts. We made the film with the intention of entertaining everyone. The movie is a mix of comedy and horror elements," she added.
The sequel also features Satya, Ali, Brahmaji, Ravi Shankar and Malayalam actor Rahul Madhav.
