Actor Siddharth last year produced a drama film titled 'Chithha'. Dubbed in Telugu as 'Chinna', the film had him in the role of a middle-class man who is suspected to have sexually molested his own niece. The twists in the film and the drama that unfolds after this are both engaging and moving.
At an awards function on Saturday, the 'Bommarillu' actor defended his film and used the occasion to criticize men who enjoy movies such as 'Animal' but find films like his own disturbing. "Many men have no issues watching a movie titled 'Animal'. But they find 'Chithha' disturbing. That's because 'Chithha' causes guilt and shame in them," the actor added.
'Animal' was directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. We shouldn't be surprised if the director comes out against Siddharth. He has previously criticized even Javed Akhtar for saying that 'Animal' was bad.
'Chithha' was directed by SU Arun Kumar.
