'Ante Sundaraniki' was released in theatres in June 2022. The film was a major disaster. In his latest interview, the Natural Star opened up about the shocking jolt it received from the audience at the box office.
The 'Shyam Singha Roy' star said that director Vivek Athreya doesn't deserve any brickbats for the unexpected flop. "People expected to see me in a fun film. I should have set their expectations right. 'Ante Sundaraniki' was more of a slow-paced drama," the actor iterated.
Nani has delivered two hits in recent years: 'Dasara' and 'Hi Nanna'. He is promoting 'Saripodhaa Sanivaaram' in Tamil Nadu currently. The actor has shot for a special Raksha Bandhan interview for a Telugu satellite channel. The Telugu version's promotions will be intensified soon. The vigilante action drama, co-starring SJ Suryah, Sai Kumar and Priyanka Arul Mohan, is going to head to theatres on August 29.
In the interview, Nani added that he motivated the directors of 'Ante Sundaraniki' and 'Tuck Jagadish' after they were released to lukewarm responses (the latter was a direct OTT release).
