As has been speculated by many Netizens, model and actress Poonam Pandey is not dead. She is very much alive. Her team on Friday said that she died of cervical cancer but not everyone took the news at face value.
Today, Poonam herself revealed that she faked her death in order to raise awareness about cervical cancer. "I feel compelled to share something significant with you all - I am here, alive. Cervical Cancer didn’t claim me, but tragically, it has claimed the lives of thousands of women who stemmed from a lack of knowledge on how to tackle this disease," she wrote on Instagram.
The publicity stunt has given Poonam enough mileage. There is a joke that, today, LK Advani being honoured with the Bharat Ratna is secondary news because everyone is talking about Poonam's prank. A corporate entity must have devised this PR plan with precision. Otherwise, it is impossible that even national media houses reported about her so-called death without checking with the hospital where she supposedly died!
