A few years back, she was sort of ignored when she was being interviewed on the sidelines of an awards function. She was giving the interview after receiving an award at the function. Incidentally, at that time, Janhvi Kapoor made an entry into the auditorium. The cameras turned their attention to the star kid and Mrunal's interview got disrupted in the process.
In an interview later, Mrunal said that it is not the fault of the star kids. She said that common people are always intrigued to know what is going on in the lives of these star kids. "I have been awarded as Best Actor (Critics' choice), same as Janhvi being awarded the same night. I wasn’t even handed a speech,” Mrunal said.
