'Kalki 2898 AD': 3D version receives negative feedback

'Kalki 2898 AD' has been released in both 2D and 3D formats. If you are planning to catch the epic-scale Prabhas-starrer in 3D, you better reconsider your decision.

The feedback has been negative, not even mixed. "Don’t even think about seeing the movie in 3D. The imagery in 2D is cleaner and richer. You can register all the details in the frame that 3D conversion and the resultant dull image robs you of," says film journalist Ram Venkat Srikar.

Agreeing with him, Lone Ranger says, "On LED screens, the clarity is crystal clear, razor sharp! Excellent details and rich colours. Regular 4K projection will look very average after watching this. 3D is a gimmick."

"3D movies are a gimmick. They are eye candy, designed to make you forget you just paid $15 to see a darker, less brilliant version of a film that its director never intended. You are paying extra for an inferior experience. That doesn't make sense," an author for CNET once wrote.
