Ayodhya Kumar Krishnam Shetty is directing and producing the film ‘Minugurulu’ on Respect Creations banner. After pursuing a film-making course in Portland North West Film Centre, he had decided to make this film with 40 blind children and few other prominent actors like
Suhasini Maniratnam, Ashish Vidhyarthi, Deepak and Raghuveer Yadav. He had also roped in few international technicians to get high technical quality. Jyotsya Bhatra composed the music and the audio was released grandly on Tuesday at Raavi Narayana Reddy Auditorium amidst several film and political personalities. Chief Guest Ghanta Srinivasa Rao released the audio CD and presented the first copy of it to Yerasu Pratap Reddy.
Later while speaking Ghanta Srinivasa Rao said, “Two reasons for my attending this function is Deepak is my close associate and the secondly ‘Minugurulu’ is a message oriented film that would inspire many. I appreciate the director and producer for making a bold attempt and wish them for grand success, good profits and good image. Deepak earned good recognition as a child artist. He will definitely become a good hero in near future. I’ll try my best to get subsidy for this film through government.”
Yerasu Pratap Reddy said, “All should appreciate the director and producer for coming out with a film for a social cause. Several blind children and orphans are struggling a lot in the society. Although we are aware of it, we are unable to do anything practically. Director showcased in this film how those children are fighting with several issues to reach their goals. I wish grand success for this film.”
Manchu Lakshmi said, “I feel films of this kind should come more in number as there is helpless situation in every field. I’m aware of the problems while doing films for social cause. Despite being the daughter of a star hero and producer, I myself faced several problems. I’m very much impressed with songs and trailers of ‘Minugurulu’. I wish for the success of audio and the film.”
Sekhar Kammula said, “Congrats to Ayodhya garu for opting a subject of this kind. It’s not an easy task to train so many children and make a film with them. We all should support him for his tough attempt. This film has been be screened in every school. I’m very happy to see yet another talented director in Telugu film industry.”
Director Sunil Kumar Reddy said, “Earlier I did a film of this kind titled ‘Silence Please’ but couldn’t promote it. But I appreciate Ayodhya’s planning. He is sure to join the list of best directors in Telugu film industry.”
Actor Deepak said, “I did 30 films as a child artist. But the character I played in this film is not an easy one. There is good scope for me to prove my acting skills through this character. ‘Minugurulu’ is a different film like ‘Burfi’ and ‘Tare Zameen Par’. There are no such scenes that would create sympathy, instead it will increase one’s self-confidence to achieve anything in life.”
Director and Producer Ayodhya said, “Minugurulu is about a 14 year old boy named Raju who turns blind in an accident. Later his irresponsible father will join him in a blind and orphan home. Raju loves film-making but will be discouraged by the orphanage authorities. How he gets a video camera and shoot a documentary film with the help of his friends forms the rest of the story.”
Eye specialist Dr Kasam Prasad Reddy of Max-vision Super Specialty Hospital said, “As an eye doctor, I know the problem of the blind. I appreciate the director for coming out with a wonderful film like ‘Minugurulu’ by training and casting the blind children. Ayodhya worked hard to make a good film just the way I worked hard to grow up as a good doctor. All songs in this film are soothing to ears.”
Suresh Kondeti, Vamsi Krishna, Jyotsya Bhatla, Sana and other unit members also participated in the audio function.
