Young leader from Telangana, KTR has gifted a Pochampally saree for Tollywood star heroine Samantha and congratulated the actress on her engagement. The actress has been roped in as the brand ambassador for Telangana handloom industry.
KTR, who is popular as Telangana IT and Industries Minister is also Handlooms Minister and is promoting handloom clothes in a big way. As part of his efforts, he urged few of top film stars to promote handloom.
Responding to KTR’s call, Samantha came forward to be the brand ambassador for Telangana State Handloom Weavers Cooperative Society (TSCO), which produces and markets handloom clothes in the state. When Samantha met KTR at his office, KTR gifted a Pochampally saree, specially woven for Samantha on the occasion. The meeting took place in Hyderabad's Metro Rail Bhavan. Officials among others present were TSCO director Shailaja Ramayyar, Industries and IT Secretary Jayesh Ranjan.
Telangana Minister KT Rama Rao took to his Twitter to announce the news. He tweeted, “Thanks @Samanthaprabhu2 for agreeing to be TSCO Handloom ambassador. Let’s make handlooms fashionable. Congratulations on your engagement :)”
