Banerjee has won Best Actor Award for his performance in 'Raktham' at the recently concluded International Film Festival LIFFT India Filmotsav at Lonavala. Directed by National award winning director Rajesh Touchriver, 'Raktham' was produced by social activist, 'Padma Shree' awardee Sunitha Krishnan.
Banerjee is the first Telugu actor to win this award. His performance as Shankar Anna, a revolutionary leader, has won appreciation. Earlier, he was the only Indian Actor to be nominated for Indi Gathering International Film Festival, held at Ohio, where 'Raktham' won awards for the 'Best Film' and 'Best Cinematography'. The film has also won awards at various film festivals.
