Actor and filmmaker R Narayana Murthy has said that the Union Budget, tabled recently, is meant to benefit corporates. He currently awaits the release of his directorial, 'Rythu Anna'
"It's sad that the budget doesn't talk about MSP for farmers. There is no mention of Dr. Swaminathan Committee's recommendations in it. The Telugu States have been neglected, while only States that are going to polls have got benefits," Murthy lamented.
He asked how can States implement welfare schemes when GST and Cesses are brought under the purview of the Centre. "The Centre has to treat all States equally," Murthy said.
'Rythu Anna' is in the final mixing stage. It will release in theatres in the end of February.
