In the trailer for 'Narappa', unveiled today, Venkatesh's character tells his son Seenappa that nobody can snatch away education from lower caste men. The film, which is a remake of 'Asuran' (Tamil), will start streaming on Amazon Prime from July 20.
Coming to the story, the titular character is forced to flee into the forest with his younger son Seenappa after the latter murders an upper-caste landlord in order to avenge his older brother’s death. What happens next is an exercise in jungle justice.
Written by Vetri Maaran and directed by Sreekanth Addala, the film also features Priyamani, Rao Ramesh, Nassar, Karthik Rathnam, Ammu Abhirami, Rajeev Kanakala.
Mani Sharma has composed the songs, while Shyam K Naidu is the DoP. This is Venky's first-ever direct OTT release.
