Science-fiction films where the gender of a person undergoes a 180-degree tuen are rare to come by on the Indian screen. The premise has been explored by some Bollywood movies. For a change, here is a Tamil movie doing it. Titled 'Partner', it is going to be dubbed and released in Telugu with the same name. Both versions are going to head to theatres on August 25.
Headlined by Aadhi Pinisetty and Hansika Motwani (actually, 'she' is a 'he'), the film is helmed by Manoj Dhamodaran. After a robbery goes awry, Yogi Babu's sex change results in complete chaos. He sleeps as a man but wakes up as a woman.
Its trailer was released on Tuesday by producer MS Muralidhar Reddy of Fun Full Entertainments. Starring Pallak Lalwani (she has previously done 'Abbayitho Ammayi', 'Juvva' and 'Crazy Crazy Feeling' in Telugu previously) as the hero's love interest, the film has got the likes of Pandirajan, Robo Shankar, and John Vijay do comedy.
Yogi Babu was most recently seen in Rajinikanth's blockbuster 'Jailer' in the role of a cabbie. Earlier, he was seen in Sivakarthiekyan's 'Mahaveerudu'. As for Aadhi, she is loved by the Telugu audience for his performance in 'Rangasthalam'. The Kollywood hero is expected to score a hit with 'Partner' in Telugu and Tamil.
