Chandu Sai of 'Pakkinti Kurradu' fame has been accused by a woman of cheating her in the name of marriage. The Narsingi Police today booked him under some sections of the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and the Indian Penal Code. The woman, whose identity has been kept under wraps by the police, accused Sai of raping her.
"Sai has been shifted to the Chanchalguda prison on remand. His parents, sister and brother-in-law were also booked in the case," a report said.
Sakshi TV reported that the woman accused Chandu Sai of raping her on April 25, 2021 after inviting her over to his birthday party. The inclusion of Sai's family members in the complaint and the invocation of the SC/ST Act's provisions make the case serious. It has to be seen if he will be let out on bail.
