Nothing validates a filmmaker's importance more than the stiff competition for his stories/dates. Director Parasuram Petla may have been trolled by cinephiles and movie buffs after the theatrical release of the mediocre 'Sarkaru Vaari Paata' last year, but he is one of the most in-demand directors in Tollywood.
The other day, Dil Raju announced a film with him at the helm and Vijay Deverakonda as the hero. This was rumouredly not to the liking of Allu Aravind, who ostensibly wanted to produce the Petla-Deverakonda movie on Geetha Arts. Now, if a senior producer like Aravind and a prolific producer like Raju want the same director, it says something about his calibre.
And sources have been quoted as saying that Petla's dates are desired by at least five or six other production houses. 14 Reels Plus, D Suresh Babu's Suresh Productions, BVSN Prasad's Sri Venkateswara Chalana Chitra are among them.
Manchu Vishnu's production house, Kedar Selagamsetty's Falcon Creations and Vasudeva Reddy Chinna of iDream Media also want to work with Petla.
Surely, 'Geetha Govindam' and a tryst with Mahesh Babu have made Petla vastly significant.
