When the National Awards were announced a few months ago, Natural Star Nani's social media post created a mild stir. The 'Jersey' actor happened to express his disappointment over the Tamil film 'Jai Bhim' drawing a blank at the Awards. As per the 'Dasara' star, the Suriya-starrer deserved at least one national award.
At that time, Nani's haters on social media alleged that he was just being negative because he was jealous about the likes of Allu Arjun winning National Awards in different categories from Telugu cinema.
Speaking at a conclave on Wednesday, Nani clarified that he was very much proud of Bunny and other achievers from Telugu cinema and that his words were taken out of context. "I am very happy for my brother Bunny, the first actor in the history of Telugu cinema to win the Best Actor National Award," the 'Hi Nanna' actor said.
Nani iterated that 'Jai Bhim' remains one of the best films he has ever watched. "Did the National Awards jury even watch that film? That's my question," the actor commented.
