"Unleashing my Vijay na in a never-seen-before avatar (sic)," wrote director Lokesh Kanagaraj, unveiling the trailer for 'Leo' in Telugu, Tamil and Kannada. The action thriller is slated to hit the cinemas on October 19.
While there is going to be an elaborate and ambiguous decoding exercise on social media in the coming days (the film apparently belongs to the Lokesh Cinematic Universe), the trailer doesn't give the kind of adrenaline rush it was expected to.
We see the characters played by Sanjay Dutt and Arjun Sarja in seemingly straightforward settings. The X factor, if at all, would have to be concerning Vijay's character. His character is vulnerable and savage at once.
Also starring Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mysskin, Mansoor Ali Khan, and Priya Anand, the film has music by Anirudh Ravichander. His BGM was top-tier in the trailer for 'Jailer' and 'Vikram'. Here, it is not so.
Produced originally by Seven Screen Studio, 'Leo' will be released in Telugu by Sithara Entertainments. Manoj Paramahamsa (cinematographer), Anbariv (action director), Philomin Raj (editor), Dinesh (choreographer), and others have worked on the movie.
