Amazon Prime Video is going to stream ‘The Family Star’ from April 26 in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam languages. An announcement was made by the platform on Wednesday.
The film was released in theatres on April 5 and bombed at the box office. Its openings were shockingly poor. It is regarded as one of the biggest flops in Vijay Deverakonda's career.
What is the film about? Govardhan (Vijay Deverakonda) is an unmarried middle-class man who is taking care of his extended family because his elder brother (Ravi Prakash) has taken to chronic drinking. He is the sole earning member and works for a construction company in Hyderabad. Indhu (Mrunal Thakur) rents the penthouse owned by Govardhan's family. She is an Anthropology student with a hidden agenda. What is that agenda? How does it affect Govardhan and his blossoming love with her? That's what the film is about.
Directed by Parasuram Petla, the film was produced by Dil Raju. Vennela Kishore, Abhinaya, Vasuki, Rohini Hattangadi, Ravi Babu and others were seen in different roles.
