Actor Nandamuri Kalyanram has found himself in the spotlight after the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) flagged him for allegedly failing to pay interest on delayed tax returns.
The CAG report on the Revenue sector audit revealed that the 'Devil' and 'Bimbisara' actor submitted returns for a period between July 2017 and March 2018 with a delay. While he cleared the tax dues through his Electronic Cash Ledger, a significant amount of Rs 11.53 lakh in interest remains unpaid, the report states.
According to official records, the actor is currently working to reconcile the interest calculation and promises to provide further details on the matter.
Recently, the actor was in the news over the launch of 'Bimbisara 2'. The sequel will be made on a lavish scale and released in theatres in 2025. As a producer, Kalyanram awaits the release of Jr NTR's 'Devara' on September 27 this year.
