Jail terms positively affect the careers of political leaders but do harm to film celebs. At least, that's what happened in the case of Sanjay Dutt. The Bollywood actor lost out on the 'Baahubali' movies because he was not available to play Kattappa due to his imprisonment back in the day.
"While Prabhas was our only choice to play the titular role, for Kattappa, we had Sanjay Dutt in mind. But then it was dicey as he was still in jail. The next option was Sathyaraj," Vijayendra Prasad said in an interview in 2020.
Sanjay Dutt went on to do films like 'KGF 2' and that's a different matter altogether.
Sivagami was offered to Sridevi at first. Due to her astronomical demands that would have amounted to Rs 10 Cr, Rajamouli chose Ramya Krishna.
