Nandamuri Balakrishna's 'Unstoppable' on Aha Video completed two full-fledged seasons and a short season over a span of more than two years. The talk show is well past its sell-by date. Almost all major celebs, including Pawan Kalyan, Prabhas and Mahesh Babu, have been guests on the show.
Next up, Amazon Prime Video is going to come up with a talk show of its own. To be hosted by Rana Daggubati, it is titled 'The Rana Connection'.
Rana's guests have to be the who's who of the Indian film industry. Since the 'Baahubali' actor is English-savvy, he will find it easy to host Bollywoodians. There is a limitation, though. The questions will be curated minutely. Prime Video is an international streaming giant with its own set of norms. The questions can't be politically incorrect or insensitive. At times, they have to be Woke-friendly. Rana will also find it hard to impress Prime's thinking heads. His spontaneity will have to be on the dot.
Balakrishna, on the other hand, could get by by cracking stale jokes. Sometimes, the idea was to flatter the guests and he did it efficiently. His episodes with Pawan Kalyan lacked even the barest level of follow-up questions. Rana will not have it easy. His homework will have to be solid.
