In the teaser of 'Ahimsa', debutant Abhiram Daggubati says that Buddha's philosophy brought peace to India. This is when, ironically, the teaser's violent portions take off. It is director Teja's way of saying that 'Ahimsa Paramo Darmah' remains an unrealized ideal to this day.
Producer P Kiran of Anandi Art Creations is producing the movie, whose release date is yet to be announced. Teja, true to his 'Jayam' template, sets the story in a village. Action scenes take place in a jungle, among other backdrops.
There is also innocent romance. Abhiram and his heroine (Geethika) are looking like those leads from 'Nuvvu Nenu' in some ways.
Bollywood actor Rajat Bedi, Sadha, Ravi Kale, Kamal Kamaraju, Manoj Tiger, Kalpalatha and Devi Prasad are part of the cast. Music is by RP Patnaik.
