Ram Pothineni on Tuesday flaunted his 6-pack-abs look in a pic shared with the world via social media. Posting the same ahead of the Mumbai schedule of the Puri Jagannadh-directed action entertainer 'Double iSmart', he wrote, "I am back".
There is an attempt by director Puri and his hero to project 'Double iSmart' as an intensely macho, hyper-masculine film. Puri tried his best to generate a similar mood in the run-up to the release of 'Liger'. Vijay Deverakonda implied that he was doing one of the most macho characters ever. The result was there for all to see. It piqued nobody's interest despite its kickboxing-driven action scenes.
Unless something extraordinary is conveyed through such promotions, these pics can please only fans and none else. They don't serve the purpose of promoting your movie in any manner.
The audience are tired of the same old tricks that SRK popularized with 'Om Shanthi Om' (Hindi) way back in 2007. This is 2023 and a new playback has to be adopted. Are our heroes and filmmakers listening?
