After the disastrous performance of 'Liger' at the box office in 2022, director Puri Jagannadh received a call from SS Rajamouli's dad, Vijayendra Prasad. During Sunday's pre-release event of 'Double Ismart', the 'Pokiri' director shared the anecdote.
"In his call with me, Vijayendra Prasad garu made a polite request. I wondered what help the father of someone like Rajamouli needed from me. He asked me to narrate the story of my next movie to him (so that he could point out flaws and make suitable suggestions). Vijayendra Prasad garu told me he can't digest filmmakers like me delivering flops. His words made me emotional. It is another matter that I didn't get to narrate the script of 'Double Ismart' to him. This time, I have not taken anything for granted and have made this film with so much care," Puri said.
Puri Jagannadh's 'Double Ismart' will hit the cinemas on August 15. It stars Ram Pothineni in the lead.
