Sundar C is known for many hits in Tamil. The Kollywood filmmaker awaits the release of 'BAAK' on May 3. The horror-comedy stars Tamannah Bhatia, Raashi Khanna and himself in lead roles.
In his latest interview, Sundar C alleged that there was a time when he was shocked by how Tollywood filmmakers had lifted scenes from his movies without his consent. Those movies were mostly made in the 1990s.
"They (Tollywoodians) copied scenes from some of my movies without acknowledging my work. It is tantamount to theft and nothing less. I was angry with the Telugu film industry. I then decided to pay back in the same coin by copying their movie scenes. That's why I did the comedy entertainer 'Winner' in 2003 with Prashanth," Sundar C said. The film was a blockbuster.
Besides 'Winner', 'Anbe Shivam', 'Arunachalam', 'Theeya Velai Seiyyanum Kumaru' and 'Giri' are considered Sundar's best films. 'BAAK' is a high-budgeted horror-comedy releasing simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil this Friday.
