'Kannappa – A True Epic Indian Tale', Manchu Vishnu's most ambitious movie, is a December 2024 release. Its Teaser was unveiled in June.
This week, a poster from the movie was released. Mukesh Rishi and Brahmaji are seen in it. The two artists, otherwise extremely talented, are seen in get-ups that barely suit them. They are playing tribals who are fiercely protective of Dharma.
Mukesh Rishi's look is at least bearable. You can give it a benefit of doubt. Brahmaji, on the other hand, looks downright funny. Yes, his might be the role of a comedian in the movie. It doesn't matter. If you are casting someone as a tribal who lived hundreds of years ago, his get-up can't look funny. It has to look genuine and sincere. Comedy must be generated based on his characterization and the lines he speaks, not from the get-up. That's the difference between caricature and authenticity.
'Kannappa' stars Prabhas in a cameo. Mohanlal, Akshay Kumar, Nayanthara and others will also be seen.
