A new pic of Puri Jagannnadh has been shared widely on social media. Even Charmme Kaur shared the filmmaker's new pic in which he sports a wide smile and trimmed hair. "Positive vibes all over. Director Puri Jagannadh brewing up a storm of double madness. 'Double ISMART' shoot happening at a brisk pace with the main cast in a massive set," Puri Connects wrote.
Puri's creativity has been in the doldrums for years now. 'Liger' last year proved beyond doubt that he is clueless about the audience's changing and evolving tastes.
Ideally, after a series of flops (and 'Liger' was a disaster in terms of content), a filmmaker should maintain a low profile. But Puri and his team are doing the opposite. They will double down when the promotions take off early next year.
'Double iSmart' might become a box-office hit upon its release on March 8 next year (2024) but this sort of indulgence is overdone. Even Trivikram Srinivas and Sukumar don't indulge in such online behaviour. It is true that Puri enjoys a loyal fan base who would be happy with such image-building. But then, the ideal would be for Puri to lie low and come back with a vengeance.
